It's the end of the world as we know it (And I feel fine)

Hello! Sorry I haven't been writing in a while. 9th grade started, and I've been doing homework. If you read the title, you may guess this is about the end of the world. Well, according to some people, the world will end on December 21st, 2012. I personally don't believe that it'll happen, due to the thousands of "End dates" that have already passed.
The one I personally remember is the May 21, 2011 "Rapture". (If you've been living under a rock for the past few years, I'll explain it to you.) Someone called Harold Camping (Who has apparently "Guesstimated" that the world would end in 1994) said that the rapture would be on May 21st.  So, he and his "Followers" decided to sell everything, buy ads saying "Have you heard the awesome news that the end of the world is almost here? It's not the year 2012! The Bible guarantees that the end of the world will begin on May 21, 2011.", and talk about (Basically) "Doom and gloom disguised as happiness". To poke fun at his prediction, some people played a song (With the same name as the title of this post), and partied. May 21st came, and... Nothing happened. He then said that it would begin at 6 PM EST. At 6, we played the song one last time, and... nothing happened. After that, he'd say the world would officially end in October,  but at that point not even the Conspiracy Theorists believed him.
Why did I tell you about that? Well, the time has come again. People said that the world will get hit by a meteor (Which has been debunked by NASA. Besides, if a fatal asteroid DID come, they would have been tracking it since 2002 or earlier.)  So, if the world DID end, I'd be 15 years old. Though we may not see the world end in our lifetime, there's a lesson to all this. Live each day as if the world will end tomorrow. (Just don't do anything stupid. We want to make life worth it, not to see how fast we can die).  To follow my rule, I'm going to do NaNoWriMo during November. Don't worry, I'll be posting some old papers onto here (On a schedule, since I'll obviously be writing.) So, I'll talk to you later.
